Tim Quinn

Former U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Tim Quinn served as the principal public liaison for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from 2017 to 2025. In this role, he collaborated with state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, law enforcement, civil society, academia, and the public. Prior to this, he was Acting Chief of Staff of CBP from 2015 to 2017.

 

Before joining CBP, Tim was the Senior Associate Dean and Chief Academic Officer of the Joseph A. Sellinger, S.J., School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland. He was responsible for all graduate, undergraduate, and executive education programs.

 

Tim also held the position of Chief of Staff at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy where he oversaw day-to-day operations and contributed to the development of policies on drug prevention, treatment, domestic law enforcement, interdiction, and international partnerships.

 

Tim has held several senior positions at the U.S. Department of Justice including Acting Director and Associate Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs; Acting Director, Deputy Director for Management, and Chief of Staff of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). He began his career in government working for the United States Senate.

 

He has a Bachelor of Arts from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, and a Master’s in Leadership from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. Tim is a member of the Maryland State Bar.
