Council on National Security and Immigration
The Council on National Security and Immigration (CNSI) celebrates its second anniversary in March 2023. During the last two years, CNSI has advocated for immigration policies that would strengthen our national security. Through op-eds, policy events, and meetings with policymakers, CNSI leaders have argued for a permanent legal status for Dreamers and DACA recipients, policies that support high-skilled immigrants, legislation to manage and secure the southern border in a humane manner, and the passage of the Afghan Adjustment Act, just to name a few. We continue this important work in 2023 and beyond by advocating for ideas and policies that put national security at the center of the immigration debate.
To commemorate CNSI’s second anniversary, Leaders Julie Myers Wood, Hans Miller, Margaret Stock, and Stewart Verdery spoke about the council’s accomplishments and what immigration priorities they hope to see addressed in 2023.
