National Security Leaders Counter Misinformation, Underscore Facts Surrounding Afghan Resettlement
October 1, 2021
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Council on National Security and Immigration praised Congress for their actions yesterday in passing a short-term continuing resolution that includes $6.3 billion in supplemental funding for Afghan resettlement, as well as benefits for Afghan parolees who were granted admission to the United States under humanitarian parole.
“We commend the U.S. Congress for their work to secure funding for resettling Afghan evacuees, many of whom are our allies who served alongside the U.S. government for the past two decades. Our nation has long welcomed vulnerable people who seek security and opportunity, and this situation should be no different. By helping evacuees resettle and integrate, this funding will support our national security.”
