Council on National Security and Immigration Leaders Celebrate World Cup as a National Security Success and Showcase of American Culture

WASHINGTON –  The Council on National Security and Immigration (CNSI) today issued a statement marking the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

"As the 2026 World Cup comes to a close, we celebrate not only a remarkable tournament but a national security success. Hosting the world's most-watched sporting event, alongside our neighbors Mexico and Canada, required extraordinary coordination across federal agencies, law enforcement, local officials, and international partners, and the U.S. did so safely.

"The tournament showcased the best of this country. Host cities from New York to Dallas, Kansas City to Atlanta, opened their doors to teams and fans of many nationalities and backgrounds. Just as importantly, visitors had the opportunity to explore our small towns, natural parks, and the full breadth of America. The world came here and saw an America that is welcoming and worth visiting.

"We thank the White House and the Departments of Transportation, State, and Homeland Security for their efforts to ensure that our transportation and entry systems facilitated the secure travel of fans from around the globe to support their teams. We also recognize the significant contributions by the governments of Canada and Mexico to the overall success of the event.

"We urge all policymakers to recognize the value of international tourism as an economic engine, a display of our democratic values, and a demonstration of the cooperation between cultures.

"CNSI congratulates the players, organizers, and the communities across the United States that made this tournament possible. The 2026 World Cup demonstrated that America can ensure security while remaining open to the world."
