WASHINGTON, D.C. –  The following is a quote from CNSI leader and former DHS Assistant Secretary Stewart Verdery:

“CNSI leaders support the Biden Administration’s ‘Uniting for Ukraine’ program. Creating an expedient legal pathway for Ukrainians with a U.S. sponsor will provide those who have been displaced quicker access to work authorization and allow many to avoid seeking entry at the U.S.-Mexico border.

This move is critical so that Ukrainians fleeing conflict can obtain humanitarian protections in a safe and efficient manner and be able to work. This program is an innovative step that could also serve as a model for similar crises in the future.”
